Extended Heart

The cardiovascular markers a standard lipid panel misses: Lipoprotein(a), the inherited cholesterol particle; ADMA and SDMA, which reflect how well your blood vessels can relax; and oxidized LDL, the damaged form of LDL that drives plaque. Best added to a core panel that includes a full lipid profile. Atlas AI scores every result against optimal ranges.

Common questions

What does Extended Heart test?

Four advanced cardiovascular markers: Lipoprotein(a), ADMA, SDMA and oxidized LDL. It does not include a standard lipid panel, so it is designed to be added to a core panel such as FitScript Essential or Baseline + Hormones.

What are ADMA and SDMA?

ADMA blocks nitric oxide, the molecule that keeps blood vessel walls relaxed and flexible, so higher ADMA means stiffer vessels. SDMA is cleared by the kidneys and tracks kidney filtration. Both are associated with cardiovascular risk independent of cholesterol.

Why test Lipoprotein(a)?

Lp(a) is about 90% genetically determined and is an independent cardiovascular risk factor that a standard cholesterol test does not measure. For most adults one test settles it, because the level stays stable across a lifetime.

Do I need to fast?

No fasting is required for this panel. If you are adding it to a core panel that needs fasting, follow the fasting instructions for that panel.
