Extended Metabolic

A deeper look at metabolic health than glucose alone: fasting insulin and C-peptide show how hard your pancreas is working, fructosamine shows your average blood sugar over the last 2–3 weeks, and leptin and adiponectin reflect how your fat tissue signals appetite and insulin sensitivity. Atlas AI scores every result against optimal ranges.

Common questions

What does Extended Metabolic test?

Fasting insulin, C-peptide, fructosamine, leptin and adiponectin.

Why insulin and C-peptide together?

Both are released by the pancreas. Insulin shows what is in your blood right now; C-peptide lasts longer and gives a steadier read on how much insulin you are producing. High fasting levels of both can point to insulin resistance years before glucose rises.

What do leptin and adiponectin tell me?

Both are hormones made by fat tissue. Leptin signals fullness; persistently high leptin can mean the brain has stopped responding to it. Adiponectin improves insulin sensitivity, and higher levels are generally favorable.

Do I need to fast?

Yes. Fast for 8–12 hours before your draw — insulin and C-peptide are only meaningful fasting. Water is fine.
